Dan Chunn: Head Coach

​The newly formed Michigan Stars FC U23 Development Team is pleased to announce Dan Chunn as its head coach in its inaugural season in the Midwest Premier League.

​
Dan brings a high level of experience and coaching certifications with him in establishing this new team.
He started his coaching career in 2001, and was co-founder of Michigan Revolution F.C. in 2007, during that time he continued his coaching education.  Following both the USC & USSF pathways.  He has obtained his USSF National C License, USC Premier diploma, USC Director Of Coaching Diploma, USC Futsal diploma and Coerver 1 & 2 diplomas.
He will continue his new role as Director of Operations in the newly formed Michigan Stars Elite Club program, in addition to his existing duties as President / Club Director for the Michigan Stars Revolution and Boys Varsity Coach for Sterling Heights Stevenson High School.

The Michigan Stars FC U23 Development Team will begin play in the Midwest Premier League this summer. The goal of the U23 team is to work with youth, college, and other young players to learn and develop under the tutelage and guidance of the Michigan Stars. The U23 team will have an opportunity to practice with the professional team and advance to the professional team when skills mature.

Mario Morano : Assistant Coach

​Mario has a great passion for coaching and playing soccer. He played club soccer all throughout grade school while continuing his playing career into college soccer. Mario repped the green and gold as a Marygrove Mustang for four seasons. He was the team's leading goal scorer his senior season while being featured as the NAIA player of the week that same year. Mario continued his soccer career playing in the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) for a total of four seasons. Mario is currently repping the purple and white of Oakland County Football Club (OCFC). The OCFC vet has captained the team the past two seasons, and was in a share for leading goal scorer in his 2019 season with 10 goals in  all competitions. ​
Mario's love for the game does not end at just playing within the lines of the soccer field, but also coaching his youth teams. Mario is the 7v7 and 9v9 Technical Director for the Michigan Stars Revolution. Mario is the proud coach of the 2011 and 2012 Eagles. Mr. Morana enjoys giving back to the game that gave him so much and strives for a new challenge when it presents itself. Mario's passion is on display when he is helping children build their knowledge, grow their skills, and develop a love for the beautiful game.

Aaron Byrd : Technical Trainer

Aaron brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to the game. Aaron founded the highly recognized Next Level Training and Byrd Academy where he continues to inspire and develop players of all ages and talents. Aaron's collegiate career was played at University of Detroit Mercy for 4 years. He then continued his pro career playing for the Windsor Border Stars and Waza Flo Pro.
